Creativity Tuesday

Over the Thanksgiving weekend I spent quite a bit of time drawing and painting.  I haven’t done much of either lately and it felt so good to do.  Drawing is so much like play for me, and painting feels like meditation and rest.  Here’s one of this weekend’s pieces:

We’re in a drought here in Minnesota, which is bad news for farmers, but has meant that our fall leaves have stayed around far longer than usual and the colors have been brilliant.

One of my favorite verses says:

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.  -Ephesians 3:17b – 19 (NIV)

 

That’s the challenge.  To be rooted and established in LOVE.  My prayer for you today is that no matter how mobile and transient your life is, you would know that you are ROOTED and ESTABLISHED in love.
