No Mirror’s in My Nana’s House

In light of the Dove post earlier this week, I thought that I’d share this song, performed by Sweet Honey in The Rock and shown on Nick Jr. The song has been a favorite of mine for a long time, but I had never seen the animation before today.  In researching the song, I discovered that there is also a picture book by the author of the song.  Look for it in future “Building a Multi-Ethnic Children’s Library” posts.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if we didn’t know that there was a societal definition of beauty?  That we knew that we were beautiful because we were shown love and we knew that we were made in the image of the beautiful creator?
